1. Firewire?
- Yes, you can install a firewire card which is pretty inexpensive. Should range around 9-15 bucks.
2. DVD Burner.
After getting your Firewire card, get a firewire burner. My favorite so far is Lacie's DVD-Burners. They are Firewire & USB. They are fast, efficient and sports a tough steal housing. I like the Lacie DVD-Burner with Lightscribe, which lets u burn a label onto a printable DVD. These are built to last... i would say the "F250" of External Burners.
3. Movie Editor
- Well there's TONS of them out there. My preference is sticking to one of the leaders of graphics: ADOBE. Adobe Premiere Elements is easy to use and is a great starting point to powerful movie editing. Maybe you can graduate to Adobe Premiere Production Suite one day. For a great link go here:

This comes with a FIREWIRE card & Adobe Premeire Elements.
Hi,
I bought a Panasonic 3ccd camcorder two months ago with the intent of creating a home video of my honeymoon. I have about three hours worth of video and would like to edit it on my PC and then burn it to a DVD. My PC supports USB but I've read that using the USB I'll lose alot of the quality. So that leaves firewire as the only option. The problem is my PC doesn't have a firewire connection.
My questions are:
1) Can I add a firewire port to my PC?
2) Are there any good external DVD burners?
3) What is a good video editing program I can use?
Thanks,
Ray
