DPreview's testing says it is relatively quick to the first shot:
But FWIW, they also tested the AW110 and said it was quick too:
I'm a long time SLR user use to shooting action photos and getting the picture i want, not one a second or two too late. I am looking for a rugged, compact digital camera that (in order of importance) has:
1) Short startup to first shot time
2) Short lag between shots
3) 4x optical zoom or better
4) Takes video
5) Is compact and light weight (good for skiing, biking, and backpacking).
I've looked at the Nikon Coolpix AW100 and AW110. They have great features, but the time to first shot is long. Does a rugged, compact digital camera exist with a short time to the first shot?
