need help finalizing on samsung drd-vr357

when transferring from home video to a dvd-r, upon completion i went to menu, chose finalize dvd, but when i get to the prompt asking if i want to finalize the yes and no squares are there but neither is highlighted and i am not able to choose either one or toggle between the two. am i doing something wrong or is it a problem with the machine or disc? thanks.

I believe a firmware update is available for that.

Go to this link:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/main/supportMain.do

Type in the model number (no dashes) and you'll see the model appear. Click on that and go to the DVD-VR357 support page.

There you'll see an option for firmware. There's the file, and the instructions on how to update your unit. If this doesn't work, you may have to call 800-SAMSUNG to assist in getting the unit repaired.
