After you get that running you have a lot of work ahead as no Windows Home versions use the login system. You get to upgrade all versions to Pro.
Once that sinks in on costs and your next year of work, why not install a NAS?
I am getting ready to create a new network setup for a new home we are building. I am not exactly sure what I need to as but can describe what the end product should look like. I want to reproduce what we have at my work where they use Novell client login.
What I am looking for: When each user logs into a windows computer on the network, there will be a shared storage space (example K: drive) that all users have access to and also a private drive (example P: drive). I want this to be transparent to the user if possible. I would like to set up a linux server with all the storage space and also maybe use it as the connection to the DSL. Please ask any additional info you might need. Thanks in advance.
