Question

Need help deciding what cpu to upgrade too!

(Excuse my ignorance on some things.)
Hey guys, my current pc specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD A10-5800k
Memory: 8G
GPU: GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB FTW Edition
Mobo: FM2A88X Extreme4+
PSU: 600w

Hey guys I needed some help upgrading my cpu. I have a budget around 200. As you can see from my specs I have a amd apu that has the fm2 socket type. I was looking to upgrade it and found out its a pretty much dead socket. I looked into the Athlon x4 880k (becuse it had no Intergrated graphics). But I my final question is: should I buy a new mobo and a new cpu or stay on the FM2 socket road. Thanks in advance!

why an upgrade?

just to do it? If for gaming, get a great video card instead.

Any options?

What GPU would you suggest around the 200 range

You first

why an upgrade? Playing action games? Seeing "tearing" or transitions blurring while in game? What do you hope to change as in greater accomplishment that would necessitate an upgrade?

Answer
Upgrade

Don't know what your trying to fix.
The 880k and 2x4GB@2133 ram is about as high as your going to go with that mobo.
Yes you'll get a bump in perf.

Answer
I've seen this before.

The owner swaps in a new CPU and it turns pear shaped.

Even changing the 750 to the 950 or 1050 will get you more gaming chops.

I see the Radeon RX470 or 480 is...

in that price range. Although it require a little more power but I think your PSU should be ok with it.
