The LG had HDR which is definitely something to look harder at. I thing the LG is the one to get but given how new it is, I will not write more than that until more specs are published.
Hey everyone,
Thanks in advance for reading and posting.
I am currently looking to purchase a budget television (primarily) for my wife to watch. I will also be using it, , though, as I am an avid sports fan. But, other than that, I watch the news and television series (Daredevil, The Americans, etc.)
I am not a videophile by any means and rarely can tell the difference in picture amongst my friend's televisions (I currently have a Panasonic Plasma that is about 5 years old). But, I still want something that will provide solid quality at a reasonable price. Currently, I am interested in the two televisions linked below, as they are both large and come with a Dell gift card.
LG 65UH5500 (4K)
Vizio D70-D3 (1080p LED)
I am hoping that the following questions can be answered:
- Is the 4K model that much of an improvement over the 1080p LED?
- If so, does the fact that the 4K model only has a 60 hz refresh rate matter? For instance, does the fact that the LED has a 120 hz refresh rate make it a better option?
- Finally, as an average viewer, would you recommend either television?
Thanks again,
Tom
