I have been a happy owner of a Casio EX-P600 for 20 months ... until last Thursday. The flash refuses to work and a phone call to Casio has confirmed that it is broken and probably not worth paying for repair.
So ... I need to buy a new camera. I use my camera primarily for home purposes (60%), but also in my business (40%).
I believe that resolution is the most important factor right now.
My dilemma ... I am tempted to go for the Canon Rebel but am concerned that if I buy an SLR, I won't take it everywhere like the Casio.
The Casio was nice and small, but really packed a punch with features and took great photographs. They have an upgraded model, but the resolution is not great in comparison with other makes.
I have $1000 to spend. I need to get a camera in the next week or so. I love the sound of the new Canon D30, but it would be wasted on my because I wouldn't use all the features.
I take lots of photographs, so a good camera is important. I do NOT want a camera without a viewfinder, ruling out the Panasonic Lumix. I would not consider anything under 8 million megapixels.
Any advice?
