Need Help choosing large capacity player

Mar 9, 2011 2:10PM PST

I have been out of this market for some time. I had a 60gb Zen B that finally stopped working. I need something at least that big and preferably larger. I use this as a stand-alone player with powered speakers. I put it on shuffle and let it run. I don't want to use ITunes. I am not crazy about enriching Mr. Gates anymore than necessary but I see no other options. Can anyone suggest anything. I had big problems after I left XP in loading the Zen. I would prefer plug and load if that is an option. Price is always a sticking point but I am not broke. I plan to use this for a long time. All expertice and comments welcome.
Thanks in advance

I recently chose Sony for anything but IPOD
Mar 11, 2011 11:29AM PST

I just bought a 16 GB Sony that is sweet, and easy. It has built in Stereo speakers. You have the option of using Windows Media Player or drag and drop or for videos they have a converter/loader.
It accepts all major audio type files. It will easily accept WMV videos, supposedly MP4 vids, but I haven't had any success with MP4's. The the only issue was increasing the gain on the audio volume in the WMV format movies.
I used Roxio 10 to convert to WMV files.
Happiness on my lunch breaks. You can even go back to the last second you were watching on the vids or audio.
It is call Sony 16 GB VideoWalkman.

Zune is big!

You can get Zune 80GB mp3 player refurbished for $140 at Buy.com, $150 at Comp USA. An extended warranty can be had for about $20 from Square Trade. 80GB for only $140 is cheap and the software will copy all your music files from your PC.
