k got it done with vista its all working now
hi
got a hp dv9500 series hp laptop that friend gave me to fix. its been infected with a some new virus (i asume from ''program'' caled 'MS antivirus 2009' i removed the previous AV and instaled Avast that seemed to do a good job deleted all files that was infected, but most files where from system restore or windows files and when restarted pc that MS Antivirus 2009 started automaticaly scaning pc again where i understood as it was spreading virus again so had to wipe out the hdd as it did not alowed to restore pc or to use system recovery or to format the C:/ hdd. formated the D:/ partition and instaled new windows xp sp2 on it so i could work with it or at least start windows without problems although it had no icons exept bin icon.
then inserted a windows xp sp2 disk again and did the instalation on C:/ hdd then formated D:/ drive and tried to reinstal windows on C:/ again as it had no icons again .when it run preparation set up and restarted i put for some reasons W xp sp3 disk a and run the instalation further. during instalation some files was bypassed after instalation pc restarted and it didnt load up windows saying some files are missing. so now im stuck on it as D:/ partition is clean and C:/ partition is not starting up. i tried to run W xp sp2 set up again but it doesnt boot from cd/dvd rom.changed boot setings on bios 1.boot from cd, 2.boot from flopy, 3 boot from hdd
everytime i start pc it just goes in to hdd boot and obviously its not loading windows on it just keep on showing setup is beeing restarted and shows some warning message in a split second and then reboots and starts the same goes to hdd boot and not loading windows over and over.
well ive done something stupid there (dont blame for that) but if you can help me what to do than PLEASE.
by the way there after ive done all the stuff i found out on other forums that hp dv9500 series laptops are made for vista and they dont work properely with W xp sp3 and does not support W xp sp1. it does support W xp sp2 but its not easy to get drivers as hp website gives only limited access to xp drivers. so that is another problem.
i was thinking on puting back to vista and get the drivers i need from hp website.
but first i need to make it to boot from cd so i can instal again new windows and fix the problem.
thank you in advance for any help hope to hear some good news here
thank you.
