With gaming as the goal that budget is barely there. Take a look at the Lenovo y510p and it's entry level is spotted now and then at 999. But at less than half that are those AMD A10 based laptops so you won't feel as bad when it breaks in some way. Laptops still are not the best choice for gamers IMO.
Hey everyone, I've built my own gaming desktop PC in January, and now everyone views me as the "techy guy" in the family. This being true for most things, is not true with laptops. My step-bro asked me to find a good laptop for him that is around $1000, but I've never even looked into laptops before. It would be VERY much appreciated if you could help me out on this one! He says he wants it for gaming, most likely games like Civilization 5, Shogun 2, or tactical games of the sort. I don't play any of these games so I don't know what optimizations would be best for them either, mostly for a laptop. Please help!
