need help-- a red square,blue triangle, and a green circle

I have a problem on some web sites. Some of the boxes are blank on web sites except for a small cluster with a red square,blue triangle, and a green circle. Please help me I have killed myself trying to figure this out. I am not very good with computers.

Top of your screen click on "Tools"
on the drop down select "Internet Options"
Across the top of the options window on the far right
Click on "Advanced"
Read the screen that comes up until you find Reset Defaults click on this then at bottom right click on "Apply" . Scroll down the small screen and find "Enable Pictures" if there is a tick in the check box you should be OK if not click on check box to enable pictures. Click OK to exit Options
