Need Help!

I`m a Swedish man in USA and i have problem with my desktop background picture....it was no problem before i have not downloaded or change it.
Now if i go to change it and get my picture back on the desktop i can not do it,if i go to appearance and themes and then to change desktop background.In display properties..if i choose desktop....i can change the color on the back ground but i cant get a picture on it.it`s stuck i can not click on anything but i can change my color.
But when i shout down the computor my picture comes up for a sec.And when i restart it it comes up till my icon comes on the desktop,then the desktop turn in to blue or what ever color i have.
Sorry about my English but i hope some one can help me.

Make sure your image type is

.bmp or .jpg. Sounds as if you changed it or there is more than one version (perhaps a .gif or .tiff) or other. Also some new application or even an older one may be setting your desktop background. You should be able to browse, locate and preview the image from the desktop tab. If not then some other issue such as malware or virus perhaps.

Perhaps if you describe the steps and file type you are using it will help to isolate the exact problem. Also O/S version would help.

click the desktop tab, then customize tab, then the web tab, make sure that no current home page is there.

If that does not help,

1 Tap the F8 key while booting.

2-on the menu that appears choose last known good configuration.

3-If that does not do it try a system restore to a couple days back. Find system restore on the start menu, programs, accessories, system tools.

4-Also you could have a virus or pest messing up your computer, here are some tools to help clear that up.
