I have found one link that may help-but I can not personally-it is beyong my level of expertise
I am attempting kto upgrade my office systems from Win 98 to XP. I use a Dental management software called Lytec, (long since out of support). When I install Lytec on various Office (stand alone) computers it will run on some and on othewrs I get the "Ldmw.exe has encountered and error and must shut down" immediately on startup. Is therer a way to trace the steps within the Lytec program and perhaps detect some difference in the registry settings that might cause failure on some machimnes and proper execution on others. Dr. Watson can of course yield an error report on the machine that fails but I don't know how to trace program steps on thost that do not fail so I can compare.
