Not all software adds this. Put some does.
I haven't seen anything in the manual or setup screens about making the date stamp appear on still photos. Has anyone solved this?

It seems like the date stamp should be stored in the jpg file. When I open these photos in a photo viewer, for example Picasa or Nero, the date does not appear.
The date and time stamp does appear for the jpg file itself, just like any computer file when properties are viewed. I would like the date/time to appear in the lower right corner of the picture when viewed or printed. I was able to do this with pictures taken with my Minolta and Olympus digital cameras.
You can go into the menu setting of the camera and set the date to print on the photo.
On the JVC GZ-MG555U I've looked at all the menu choices and I've studied the user manual but can't find a selection to do this. However, that was the way I did it with my two digital cameras.
