Step 2. What can you get for 1K?

Make a list from step 2 and see if people can whittle it down for you.

Does it matter if it's DVD or miniDV?

You'll discover DVD to be full of problems for people who want to edit their video. If you won't be editing and can stand the other issues then DVD may be your solution.

Panasonic vs Sony?
Jul 14, 2006 3:12PM PDT

I'm looking at the Panasonic PV-GS500 and Sony Handycam DCR-HC96. Does anyone have any experience with either of these cameras?

I want to buy a camcorder but am having trouble deciding what will work best for me....the more i read the more i am getting confused. I want a camcorder that i will give me good quality video that i will be able to EDIT fairly easily....what are my best options? My budget is not a big deal but i also dont want to waste money either. I will need to use it for making short presentation videos and mock broadcasts.
