Need Buying Advice PLease

Nov 24, 2009 11:49PM PST

Hey guys,

I am currently looking to buy a multimedia laptop that can still play current games at decent quality. I have my eyes on the Lenovo Ideapad y550 elite with basically max settings or an Asus laptop. My budget needs is lower than $3000, preferably less than $2500 but cost isn't a main driving issue. I don't want a screen larger than 17" or anything that is more than 9 pounds. Any other brands/models is appreciated.

Thanks

Gaming is still where your gamer desktops rule. While this will play today's games I still find desktops win when it comes to gaming. Also these gaming laptops tend to run warmer and have a shorter lifespan by about a year. This is either due to the heat or the use. I can't tell yet but I bet it's both factors

This model is a good value from the mid 700 bucks on up.

Thanks for the advice, however, I don't really want a gaming computer. Thats what desktops are for =). I am looking for a multimedia laptop that can still play games fairly well. You helped me find some choices and I really appreciate that. Thanks again

Asking for a family car that is good at Daytona. You would be unhappy in such a thing.

However, you will find many game capable machines in the 1K or so range.
