Need AVCHD to DVD conversion software recommendation

I've searched the internet (and this forum) and can't find a clear answer. I've got a Canon HG20 and want to convert the AVCHD format to DVD both for my viewing pleasure but also to send to friends who don't have Bluray players. The Canon software is so user-unfriendly that it's a joke and I've tried a couple of others (don't remember the names) but no success. I did look at PoweerDirector but decided to stay away because of all the bad reviews. Is there a software that will do the conversion without a lot of hassle? Also, what are the major issues with this conversion? I've got a dual processor 32-bit PC.

ConvertXtoDVD: <span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> <span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> <span id="INSERTION_MARKER"> I always use it to convert and burn AVCHD video to DVD, it works pretty well for me.
