Need answer about Sprint PPC-6700!!

After speaking with 6 Sprint reps (that's right, 6), four have told me that the basic Vision service will allow me to have unlimited access to an IMAP account, and 2 have told me that I need a Power Vision service. (I plan on setting this up through Pocket Outlook on the 6700).

Either way, none of them have been able to tell me if I can be notified when I recieve an e-mail. They "guess" that I have to manually check to see if I have any new messages. One rep thought that I would be sent a text message when I got an e-mail.

Can anyone confirm any of this?? I'd really like to be automatically notified about my e-mail, but nobody at Sprint seems to know about the Outlook+Vison combination. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

The Answer to your question

In reply to: Need answer about Sprint PPC-6700!!

I just bought this smart phone on Nov.1 2005 So far this phone is excellent "That is my opinion" I went to my near sprint store to get this phone activated, I just change my old phone to this one. Setting the phone to receive emails using the pocket outlook application that the phone has it is very easy. Is like setting up your own computer at home. I got my two email's account set up on this device. In the event you received an email the phone will notify you ASAP, but you have to do just a small set up to your email account when setting it up. Select that your phone use itself to autostart the internet service, this can be set up to be done like from every 1 minute to up to 60 minutes. Messaging on your phone will request the service and the phone will connect and gather all message you have on each individual account. Regarding the internet plan for this device I beleive that the plans start at 15.00 to a top of 25.00 I'm using the middle plan so far so good.

Find out on their website and read more about this plans for this phone either the 15 or 20 are just fine

this will at least save you the hazzle of having aditional charges like the ones they charge for instant messaging.

You got the wrong vision plan

In reply to: The Answer to your question

The EVDO plan should be only $15, its a specific plan for the phone. The $20 and $25 plans include features such as sprint pictures which dont work with the phone so dont waiste your money on them.

There is 2 ways to solve your problem.
1. is you can set outlook to check your e-mail ever 15 minutes (1-99 minutes)
2. is that you can have your e-mail provider to send you txt messages when you recieve new e-mails. Which depends on your e-mail provider.

as for the plan, the EVDO is $15 a month for unlimited use. and it is very fast at about 350k connection.

the only other choice is the highspeed plan which is $80 a month which gives you a 2Megabite connection.
