PROBLEM-- new pc is much slower than old one!!!! Do I need more RAM?
How much? Should I take pc back and get another? (I just got it 4-5 days ago, not even hooked up to internet yet) Help please. Thx,wsh

2 GIG

That amount of ram is pretty bare bones for Windows Vista home premium.
Also it says that the video is up to 256MG shared memory which is taking some of the 1 gig.
I have a HP with Vista home premium and the difference in speed between the 2 gig compaired to 1 gig was very noticeable.

Thx - I'm afraid thats the case. Just so surprised my old clunker w/b
faster than new one. Which is more important? 2gh processor or 2gig SD-ram? (not sure my terminology is right here) wsh

Talk to the place where you bought it.

You said the computer was just a few days old, I would take it back to where you bought it and ask their tech. guys and tell them your concerns.
Also if in fact it does need more ram you could change it for one with 2 gig already installed and probably come out cheaper.
As for the sd ram, if your referring to the ready boost thing, that doesn't seem to help much.
