Need advice on Toshiba dvd recorder D-R5

by mjimenez / April 9, 2006 3:19 AM PDT

I am thinking of buying a new dvd recorder. I have a 5yrs old Panasonic burner, in fact all of my vcr/dvd player had been Panasonic but i saw a Toshiba dvd burner with HDMI. I never owned a Toshiba electronics and i try to find some review about the Toshiba D-R5 and can't seen to find a single consumer review about it. Can anybody out there who own a Toshiba D-R5 give me a opinion about the player. Is it worth buying?

WHY

If your old d.v.d. burner works why not keep it and save your money for a new hi-def d.v.d. player then use your old buner for recording

Except, I will not buy another DVD recorder until the HD recorders become reasonable and they settle on a format.

I hate waiting

It was just released last week from what I have heard from a local retailer. A lot of places don't even have them yet including Amazon.com. I have been waiting for this unit ( patiently ) myself.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...It'll be here soon. $199.00. The D-r4 is 104.99 on clearance, and I will get that one for the master bedroom. I have heard great things about that one, but I thought that I would wait to get the D-r5 for the living room-replacing the Sony ( piece of crap )RDR-GX315. The worst component I have ever had. I went through 2 of them...P.O C.!!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
