need advice on buying slr camera ??

Im planning to buy an slr camera .. and my budget is around $800 ... which one do i go for??

You go to the store and get the one that you feel most comfortable with. There isn't a "bad" DSLR and since you didn't give any specifics then any DSLR will do for casual shooting.

DSLR cameras can be evaluated based on different scenarios
Round 1: The Close-Up
Round 2: The Landscape
Round 3: The Action Shot
Round 4: The Portrait


cameras that are really good in these qualities and that are less expensive like less than 800$ are
Canon Digital Rebel XT ($599), Nikon D40 ($549), Pentax K100D Super ($599), andSony alpha DSLR-A100 ($799).
there prices could be less by now...
