A 21 inch laptop?
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / July 7, 2010 10:09 AM PDT

While these are simply the community forums, once in awhile folk think that this is a shopping service. No staff here so hit or miss if anyone will do what you asked.

However Dell appeared to have removed their 20 inch laptop a few years back. Maybe 18 inches is now the usual big screen.

18inch : can i get a square type of screen instead of the square one.
i thought cnet helps people in buyinh laptops.
as i am confused from buying a laptop and a desktop.
the main reson behind my posting is that i have a p4 laptop and a p4 desktop both with 512mb ram and xp3 in laptop and ubuntu in desktop.
so,as i am now b.tech computer science & engineering 3rd year student
i want to buy a new laptop and desktop with some good configuration so that i can use it for another 4 years.

thank you bob for reply !

Cnet does do that.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / July 8, 2010 6:13 AM PDT

But this is the member to member forum with no paid staff. All posts here are by whoever comes by.

At the top of the forum are laptop pickers and the Cnet picker among others are there.

Square or 4x3 displays are now longer in production in laptops. Hope that helps you avoid losing time looking for a new laptop with such.

Hi Akarsh,

I work for Intel and I did a little shopping for you. The biggest screen I could find was a 18.4 screen from Toshiba, details below.

it is a intel i5 processor
by sakarshkumar / July 11, 2010 1:53 PM PDT

i had seen the link u gave me dude.
i would like to advice on going for intel i7 processor as suggested by tim.
and also one reason behind my choice of selecting the i7 processor is its liability of making multiple threads (like from 4 threads to 8 threads) i suppose if ur planning for more then 2 years better go for i7 or higher processor with 2.75 ghz speed above.
and blu-ray in laptop i think dvd -rw better coz sony ps3 are offering blu-ray disc i think blu-ray gaming is better in that platform
now,hdd 500gb or 1 tb try to get 7200 rpm on the hdd so that u wont get bored while transfering files.
win7 ultimate is better i think dude . i also like the mac os as it is cheaper then the win.
