Why do you think your data in the cloud is better protected than on your PC?
For example, take Microsofts Onedrive.
- https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17184/windows-10-onedrive tells that if ransomware encrypts your offline copy the changes will be synced to the cloud.
- if you fall for a phishing attempt and it installs malware on your system, then if you can access the data in the cloud from File Explorer, the malware can do the same
The best backup is an offline backup.
Hi,
I need some help. I'm aware that cyber threats are at large and businesses should take preventative measure. Our servers are protected with antivirus and malware software. I read on many sites that cyber hackers are basically always using new ways to attack you.
I run a small financial management firm and I'm thinking it's time to take stiffer measures to safeguard my business i.e. hosting on my data on the cloud.
Need your suggestion on this.
