you won't get any email. go to the Downloads section of CNet and look. there are hundreds, if not tens of thousands of such programs. even on Win98, you can save the files as WAV and use any relatively recent version of Media Player to convert them to MP3 files.

I run on WIN98SE. I need a replacement Sound Recorder software package that will enable me to record voice input in a compressed format. I understand that MP3 is the defacto standard now. I also would like to be able to pipe in old audio tapes and reformat and record them to CDs in MP3 format. Where do I go to find references for such software, including actual User ratings? I am willing to pay for such software.
PS - I am new to this Forum (I used the old ZDNet Help occasionally going back many years). Will I get an e-mail notifying me that someone has responded to my Posts??
