The Zire 21 would be a nice enough unit but my buddy suffered data loss on it too many times. Skip that one and go for the Zire 31 if you must 'aim low'.
There are infrared keyboards out there for the keyboard duty.
-> Beware that you will not be making an exactly ready to print document. In fact, I would forgo Documents to go and simply try the notepad for the words and then sync it to the PC, copy/paste the words into Word and format it there.
I've seen some Treo 90's out on the refurb market and Radio Shack for 99 bucks. That model has a mini keypad and is a model I own as well as my buddy. The SD memory card is nice since you can transfer content to flash so battery outages don't wipe out your work.
-> In closing, a PDA is no substitute for a PC/Mac.

I am looking for a PDA in the 100-200 dollar range (preferably closer to 100). The only things I really want it for are a calander and something I can use as a portable Word document machine. I can't afford a laptop so I was thinking I could get one of those keyboards and use this to make Word docs on the go, either in the library or while in class. So I really want something that synchs to Windows with no problems, and also has a place to hook in the keyboard, as well as a place to expande memory if I need to. I was looking at the Sony Clie products, but any suggestions would be wonderful. Also if you have suggestions for a keyboard to get that would be cool as well. Thanks.
