I can't boot up from Windows on my hard drive. I plan on reinstalling it. But I need to backup some of the files I have on the HD. So I need a live distro which can help copy files from the internal hard drive while running from a 2gb usb flash disk. Can anyone help me?

For so simple task any liveCD is OK, but I suggest specialized:

It has many nice backup/system fix tools.
In such situation I used ubuntu as most friendly distro. It can be downloaded from torrents at http://www.picktorrent.com or from official site.
