Question

Need A Laptop Recommendation

Feb 25, 2018 12:56PM PST

I'm looking for some recommendations for a laptop. It will be for work and will not need to have a huge hard drive (256 gb will be sufficient). It will need to have Windows 10 (preferably Pro) and I would like a 14" or larger display. I want it to boot quickly so an SDD is a must and I'm guessing an i5 or better processor. I'd like for it to support Bluetooth and by the way, $500 of less would be real nice. HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus... it doesn't matter as long as it's a good machine. Thanks for any advice.

Bad, bad HP!

Thanks so much for that information. It’s unbelievable what’s become of HP. I had to recently replace a All In One 6830 printer with a Canon. Don’t know how well the Canon will work but after two HPs that turned out to be turds, I can’t imagine it being worse. Is the refurbed Dell you recommend easy to install an SDD into in place of the SATA?

I will give a nod to the 21 dollar Apricorn USB 3.0 Drive Clone Kit (it's on Amazon) and your choice of laptop SSD to move up. It's not a new laptop but what a deal.
