Need a hard drive based mp3 player with real random play !!

Nov 2, 2005 9:45PM PST

Hi !

I'm really disgusted.

I recently bought 2 hard drive based MP3 players and
none of them are capable of perfect random play !

I have a pikaone groove case (20 gb) and with
the random function on, it plays nearly all the
same tracks everytime.

Then I bought an h&b (omisys) 20 gb.
This one is better. It can play real random.
But the problem is that randomness can be
on the 3000 songs that I've stored in.
When playing for example a song beginning
with the letter "M", it will play songs beginning
with "L", "K", "O" but never songs beginning
with "V" or "S", "A"....

This means that with the random function, it will
never play songs that are too far from the first
song played !

This is so strange , but true !

Maybe it's because of a too small memory buffer.

Now do you know a player that has a true efficient
random function, even with thousands of songs ?

I desperately need it .

thanks
