NEC discussion thread

by uppingto / January 12, 2007 10:13 PM PST

I recently bought a NEC 50XR5A plasma panel and am really happy with it so far. I was wondering if current owners(or non owners)wanted to start a discussion thread concerning settings, IR prevention, set-up, problems, comparisons against other brands or any other pros or cons concerning this brand. NEC is considered to be a Tier 1 manufacturer but not a very well known one, due to its limited distribution in North America, as far as plasma manufacturers are concerned. I was wondering how long you should leave your break in settings on before calibrating the set after the break in period.

Just keep the brightness & contrast settings below 50% for the 1st 100 hours.

Can anybody who owns a NEC tell me how to access the clock in these panels?
