NAV/NIS 2003 is expiring. Should I.....

purchase a new 2004 disc, or update online. Before I got a cd burner, I always preferred to buy a new disc.
There is hardly any difference in costs either way and if I can update online and then burn the program to cd, that would be great. I am not sure if Norton has some kind of *write* protection in the program that would prevent me from re-installing it on my computer should I have to do a re-store of the HD in the next year.

I do want to stay with Norton, too.

OS. xp home.

Mojo,

Just my opinion, but if you've got a program that is working well on your computer, and you like it, stick with it. Why update to the Norton 2004 if you can simply renew your subscription of your current version?

I've seen too many users upgrade or switch to something new simply because the option was open. Norton does a good job at detecting viruses.

You can renew your Live Update subscription if you want:

Hope this helps.

Grif has made a very good point here. I still have Norton's System Works 2002 and

I have been very satisfied with it and merely have been renewing it, unless I at some point join those that have had problems.

and hopefully, I can burn the program and updates to CD. My 2003 works very well--absolutely no problems with it so far. A few years back, I renewed and later in the year I had to restore my HD. Since I had no disc, it was quite a pain getting the key from Norton so that I could re-load the program. Of course the dialup download took hours it seemed.

God bless CD burners.
