HOWEVER, when I saw it, it was on a factory installed OS. Vista didn't have an Enterprise available as a preloaded OS so I take it you have this from work and thus you need to take it up with your company IT staff.

I am having problems installing Naturally Speaking Preferred 9 on my new levono R61 Think Pad running windows vista enterprise, 32 bit operating system, even though it is supposedly compatible. During the microphone setup I am unable to get the sound/noise ratio to more than 13 which is inadequate for accurate voice recognition. Using the same microphone with my previous computer running windows xp professional the sound/noise ratio was 23 which gave me excellent results. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried the existing posted remedies which approximate my problem but none of these apply exactly and I have had little success in solving my problem.
