Question

NAS systems

Mar 23, 2017 2:33PM PDT

I have a small laboratory with a wireless network of eight computers that all talk to a NAS device for storage. My manager would like me to back up the NAS drive to the corporate network on a mapped drive. How do I get a wireless system that does not access the internet to back up to a corporate network?

Are You Saying NONE of Those Comps Have Internet Access?

You stated that your network is "a wireless system that does not access the internet". I find it strange that NONE of the lab computers are able to access the internet. But.... If that's the case, then your only option is to make a copy of the required documents/folders, etc. from the NAS drive to an external hard drive, or flash drive, or DVD, depending on the size of the documents/folders, etc. and transfer the copy to the corporate network storage location, either physically or by using an internet connected computer.

Of course, if there IS a computer which has admin access over the NAS and also has an internet connection, then you can simply copy and paste the needed documents/folders, etc. to the corporate network on a daily basis.

Hope this helps.
