Did you consider Sonos?

Hi,
I'm in the process of making the long overdue switch from cd's to digital music & have copied most of my library into high res files. I'm now looking for a way to access & play this music effectively - ideally via an app on iphone. I've done some research & have the following plan, although am struggling to get confirmation that this will actually work. Any help much appreciated.
Ok, so I have a cyrus 8vs2 amp (non digital) & was planning to connect this to a - yet to be purchased - arcam dac (perhaps the new irdac2) & then have the NAS (I'm looking at the QNAP TS251+) connect to the arcam DAC. I'm hoping to make all these connections with cables & thus without using wireless, although I do have broadband. I'm also keen to have any system work without the need of a laptop or similar.
So, does this sound like it will work? or do I need a media player in there somewhere? or is there something else I have missed?
Many thanks,
Doug

Thanks for the clarification request. I agree it is not clear if the QNAP NAS will drive my DAC directly & so I did wonder if a media player was needed. If a media player is recommended, is there a model/ make you would recommend?
As for Sonos, I have considered, but would rather go wired rather than wireless.
Many thanks.
If I was to pick a media player today I have so many choices. I think I would use one of my old phones since these are Android and I would have a choice of some thousand media player apps. Then I don't need the DAC. Cost? Zero since these are used models sitting in the drawer.
Thanks, yes I was hoping to use the phone as a remote & the NAS as the media server/ player, but realise I may need an extra device (media player) in there.
