Nano iRemote - What if...

Mar 5, 2006 2:15AM PST

So I was listening to my iPod on my crappy, circa 1999, $8 PC speakers, wondering whether I should get an Altec Lansing InMotion 7 or get all Mad Dog and get a HiFi so I could be a real Apple fanboy. After all, whilst various reviewers have been underwhelmed (Tom, Molly, James Kim, CNet readers, Leo Laporte (classical music = muddy)), Mike Kobrin over at PCMag gives it a solid recommendation over the Bose Sound Dock:

Anyway, what quickly became apparent was that without a more useful remote I was going to get cheesed off with any of the solutions pretty quickly.

So here's what I want:

A vaguely iPod Nano-shaped remote that would show me the remote iPod's screens on the remote screen and would allow me to move around the menus using the wheel just as if I were using the docked iPod directly.

This would be perfect for any iPod dock or for the Hi-Fi.

IMHO. YMMV.
