Nano battery life and other things!

Apr 10, 2006 12:32AM PDT

Just got an iPod nano, 4gb is PLENTY.

Well the advertised battery life is 14 hours, obviously take this with a pinch of salt but I have gotten 7 hours so far, this is half which is erm.... rediculous to say the least.

I think I am going to take this back and get a Samsung Z5 instead as it has much better battery life. I just wanted to ask, since the nano was my first purchase, generally what is apple's sound quality like? What can i expect from the Z5 compared to the nano in terms of sound quality?

On a side note.... on these forums how do you make the forums go into a flat mode where all posts are visible as opposed to a threaded system where you must click each topic to see it?

The sound quality of the Z5 is better.
It is a great little player.

What about the sandisk e200 though?

I will probably take the plunge and get the samsung then due to the hell of a lot more battery life and it is a lot cheaper than a nano.

But, can't help thinking, what about the sandisk e200? You get a lot more features such as FM radio and 20 hours of battery life is very impressive. The one thing that is very worrying is the electrical noises, is this still present on the e200?

Samsung vs Sandisk

Dude,

According to anythingbutipod.com, the sound quality of the Samsung Z5 and the e200 series Sansas is about the same - that is, better than the nano.

The electronic noise problem is minimal, and can only be heard at very low volume.

However, the e200s are currently suffering from lots of bugs - seizing up, etc, and keep getting pulled from shop shelves.

Personally, I'm gonna wait a few weeks until they've ironed out the bugs.
