Question

Mysterious RTF on my laptop

Aug 22, 2017 11:39AM PDT

Okay so my laptop has been really giving me hell these past couple weeks. Its not been letting me scroll on mozilla FF and occasionally wouldnt let me move my mouse on screen. There hasnt really been anything troublesome other than that until today. Because of previously mentioned mouse and scrolling problems, I restarted my laptop and once it was all rebooted and logged in, smack in the middle of my screen is a file I did not create. When I clicked its properties, it said it was created 3 minutes ago (when it was starting back up). Should I be concerned and take it in to a professional? Geez I hope its nothing serious. I haven't even had it a year. I got it second hand from a computer repair shop when the driver kicked the bucket on my old laptop. But yeah, anything anyone can tell me on this? I'll include a link to pics of it below.

I right clicked on my desktop, down to new and clicked on Rich Text Document and the same filename showed up here.

Delete it and move on.

Since it's only 7 bytes, I don't think it can do much harm. What do you see if you open it (in MS Word or LibreOffice Writer or Wordpad)?

Pretty easy goof on a right click.
