Here is the story. I use Windows XP and I Moved into a new house in 2006. I wanted to set up an internet connection. The cable internet guy said the house wasn't wired correctly for the web. So He suggested I use a wireless modem to get the connection on three different computers throughout the house. So I went to Office Max and bought a Linksys wireless G 2.4GHZ USB network wireless modem and adapter. It seemed like a good idea. well I have one computer in the furnished basement which is ground level and two others in the bedroom areas and a laptop too. Since I started using the wireless system from the get go, beginnning, I have had all sorts of problems either with the router or modem. The web dies alot, which is that it loses the connection and it never returns unless I go to the modem unplug it and replug it. But, alas, sometimes even unplugging and replugging the cable doesn't work. It runs slow too. On the laptop somtimes, it can't find the connection while the other computers have it and everytime I play realmedia stuff or quick time, or when I use wmp files on the two computers in the bedrooms, for some reason wmp works with the computer in the basement, well I lose connection. What is the problem here? What is going wrong? Is it the net provider or the wireless system? Would I have to upgrade the connection from the cable internet company? Is the wiring wrong or the wireless system is bad? I only called the cable internet guys once and they said they found nothing wrong on their end. They never made a housecall. Please Help as I am not able to be on the web much anymore.
