My Wireless connection does not connect to the Internet

Mar 7, 2005 12:44AM PST

I'm using SMC wireless router with SMC wireless card. Although my connection strength is excellent, I still cannot get to the internet. When I try, I get the message the page can not be found. I spoke to the SMC rep, (very helpful at times) and they told me to delete the Network Bridge because that was preventing me from accessing the internet. Tried it but that didn't work. I have WEP enable and another computer connected to the internet via wireless USB card but my laptop can not get to the internet. Please help me with my connection. This all occurred after I enabled WEP and the security key code.

Not everyone succeeds with WEP. When it fails it means that one of the device's FIRMWARE or DRIVERS are incompatible.

What I do to get past this is to go back to what worked, then update firmware and drivers, try again and if it still fails with WEP, then I disable WEP and use the simple MAC FILTERING security.

If you don't like that, then replace the Wifi Router.
