my windows wont maximize :(

pc was fine now all of a sudden its messed up
xp
when i click explorer window opens minimized but wont maximize also my seemsl ike my internet is locked wont log on to even messengers and i have zero download

discon and recon the wire fixed internet but still windows wont maximize
