My Windows 10 VLC Won't Play My DVD

Here is what it says:
"Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd:///D:/'. Check the log for details."

try it with file: instead of dvd:

Did it actually use forward slashes instead of windows typical backward slashes? Linux uses forward slashes, just like browsers use.

OK, convert that DVD to an ISO file with whatever tool you wish. I used CDBURNERXP for that then ran the ISO with VLC.
