Question

My Wi-fi and Ethernet keeps disconnecting

So here is my problem ; I have a laptop and the wifi and ethernet keep disconnecting, by that I mean the little yellow sign that means "No internet connection". The problem is not with the internet connection because every other device in the house works fine on the internet. My boyfriend has a laptop also, and his works perfectly.

I have tried uninstalling the driver of my internet adapter, but that didn't change anything.

This is making me mad now, so can someone help me ?

Have you tried rebooting the router? That is, turn it off for a few minutes and reboot.

Yes I did.

It was doing that with another router too. And like I mentionned already, internet works fine on any other device.

OK.

In reply to: Yes I did.

Did you go to device manager and delete it there and reboot your PC?

OK, you have a new laptop that always disconnects.

In reply to: My Wi-fi and Ethernet keeps disconnecting

You didn't write this is a new issue so let's go with a defective new laptop that is at a reasonable range to the router (20 feet or less.)

This is a warranty issue now.

Windows 10 has a refresh reset feature that can fix some of these issues. It's not a sure thing but here we have part of the laptop's story. A common gaffe is the WiFi channel but I don't suspect that since you used Ethernet and it dropped.

HOWEVER there are new users that try both WiFi and Ethernet at the same time and get burned. I have to ask if you know to use one at a time.

I made sure it was off, but ethernet still does disconnect.
