Any antivirus suite?
I have no anti-virus, but Malwarebytes is install.
Is this free or paid?
Do you mean the malwarebytes ? It was free
Then it seems you have no protection.
Have you tried rebooting the router? That is, turn it off for a few minutes and reboot.
Yes I did.
It was doing that with another router too. And like I mentionned already, internet works fine on any other device.
Did you go to device manager and delete it there and reboot your PC?
Delete what exactly ?
OK, you have a new laptop that always disconnects.
You didn't write this is a new issue so let's go with a defective new laptop that is at a reasonable range to the router (20 feet or less.)
This is a warranty issue now.
My laptop isn't new.
You'll have to reveal more.
Windows 10 has a refresh reset feature that can fix some of these issues. It's not a sure thing but here we have part of the laptop's story. A common gaffe is the WiFi channel but I don't suspect that since you used Ethernet and it dropped.
HOWEVER there are new users that try both WiFi and Ethernet at the same time and get burned. I have to ask if you know to use one at a time.
The wifi is off on the computer.
I made sure it was off, but ethernet still does disconnect.
Well your symptoms would point to the
the internet source because both you have a wifi card and an ethernet card, But with other devices not having the problem blows that theory. Have you tried it on another Wifi network like Mc Donalds or Starbucks? It could be you need to update both the Wifi and Ethernet drivers on the PC.
I did check for updates.
And everything is up to date but I am still having the same problem.
Maybe I am missing a driver ?
