should have been posted in the original thread.
Re 'retail'... warranty is materially different between OEM and retail for CPUs and retail is the way to go for me plus they always come with a HS FAN. That said I always opt for better HS Fans than come with retail but that's another issue. Frostytech.com has some good info re the effectiveness of HS Fans including those made by Intel and AMD.
Re retail HDDs and CD-DVDs ... with the warranty being same for most retail HDDs and retail CD-DVD, there's little or no real benefit to the retail product unless one comes with software or hardware you really want and or need.
Re PSUs... I'm not much for modular and for my $$ I usually buy Corsair ...

PS...Is there a newer version of the P6T that comes with SATA 6GBs and USB 3.0 ? If yes...believe I'd opt for that.

I am going to stick with the ASUS P6T Deluxe with the i7-960. I do not know much about overclocking, and don't mind spending the extra money. I'm going to stick with "Retail" versions of the HDD and DVD Drive because this is my first build and would like to idiot proof it as much as possible.
Thanks,
Kyle
