Question

My UE32H5500 TV only finds half the videos in my library

Apr 18, 2015 2:34AM PDT

My UE32H5500 Smart TV is connected to my home network. It finds my Windows 7 SP1 computer and can play compatible media from my Windows Media Player library.

However, there is a problem with accessing my video library, which contains about 1500 mp4 titles. When I go to All Videos, the TV only finds about 500 to 650 titles (the exact number varies from one session to another). Some titles are always found, some are never found, and some are sometimes found and sometimes not. As far as I can tell, the codecs used are not the cause of the difference, as the great majority of them are the same, as checked with MediaInfo.

Photos and audio files are fine, it's only videos that are problematic.

This makes no sense to me, and it's frustrating only to be able to view less than half my video files. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can anyone suggest a solution or workaround?
