That kit is not complicated for folk that do solder work on PCBs and more. I would never suggest anyone new to soldering do that level of repair.
So here's a search on something more typical.

If you feel it's worth the risk, get the entire power supply board instead.

So I have problem with my old trusty LG RZ-37LZ55 LCD TV. About 1 month ago or so I noticed that the TV had a hard time responding to the remote when I tried to turn it on from Standby. I started using the button on the side of the TV to turn it on from standby instead. Now today I woke up and pressed the on button again, but this time there was no response at all.
The red standby light is just constantly on, and nothing happens when I press the on button. No blinking or anything. I have tried to unplug the tv for a while and replugged it but still no response. I looked around a bit and some people say I have to replace the power supply or something.. I went ahead and ordered this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270882030932?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648
Because it was so cheap anyway. I dont know if i can manage to replace these parts on my own though, it seems a bit complicated.. but getting a repair person must be extremely expensive.. do anyone have experience with a situation like this and any ideas what I should do?
