You're going to have to spend a lot more

than $250 to get a 5-year-old machine to play games. What's your OS? Are you still running windows 98?

If you want to play any games older than two or three years you should consider getting a new computer. A 5-year-old computer is really an antique.

You could upgrade and perhaps still use some of your current components. The mouse, the keyboard, the monitor.

If you have a standar ATX case (nothing made by Dell or HP) you could drop in a new motherboard, ram, CPU, power supply, & graphics card. You might as well get a new hard drive and OS too. You could keep the old HD as a second HD.

Best of luck. You already have a graphics card. A newer graphics card might not work in your computer.

We need to know the make and model, and OS of what you've got now...
