My tablet won't charge

Jul 8, 2014 8:24AM PDT

I have an Ematic - Edan XL 9 inch tablet with 8 GB memory. Up until about February (about Valentines Day) my tablet charged using the AC adapter it came with. After that, the tablet wouldn't recognize the adapter when I plugged it in. The charger has taken no damage (I've checked), it just simply doesn't charge the tablet. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I've used a USB cord and other 3 party charges to charge it, using the USB port. Now, the casing around & partially inside the port has come off, and the port itself, has shifted so that the USB cord cannot connect into it.

Basically, I can't charge it. I NEED HELP!!!!

Time to hunt down that company.

Ask them how much to repair it or what the exchange rate it. I see you did reveal what is broke so I'm guessing here you don't do such repairs.

Well, maybe...

Honestly, I don't feel like "shelling out big bucks" (even though this phrase will apply) for a tablet I bought when it was on sale for $30 off. I'd like to exchange it, but if possible, I'd like to see if anybody knows a way that I could continue to charge it.

Anybody?

I guess you could hack it.

That is, solder a few wires to the internal PCB and tape those to the backside with another USB connection. But if you were going to do that you would. When folk ask how to, well you give them video tutorials on how to solder. Today you don't do that as much as they can google that.

PS. What you usually see on such a repair.

I have managed to charge my tablet in my car for an hour or something like that. It would seem the charge is much lower coming from the car charger then it is from the home charger. Once I have done I can be able to plug it to my home charger and it goes charging like normal. I Hope this helps.
