Hi take help from any hardware expertise, it will be easier to you.
I bought a new video card (GT 610) with the intention to run it as a second card so I could support 3 screens and a TV through my computer.
Before I began this process, I had my computer speakers (Bose) hooked to the machine through the 3.5mm jack and was playing music no problem. I turned the computer off to install the card; although admittedly it was by pulling the plug rather than turning it off because I'm lazy.
I plugged the new card in, turned on the machine, got the screens all working but BAM no more music via my speakers. I tried hooking them into an iPod to make sure they still worked themselves and they do.
When I go into the audio manager and set the speakers (which appear as realtech HD audio) it says they're ready, have the little green check, and the bars on the right bounce about as though they're making sound yet none actually produces itself.
For the interim I've rerouted the sound through the TV which is attached through the new/2nd video card on an HDMI cable but I want it back to my speakers.
I've cranked the volume, unplugged the tv, disabled all other audio options yet nothing has worked.
Please help me fix this, I'm an army officer and ill-suited to tech support.
Thanks!
