system speaker not working

I just installed xp Pro on a new hard drive and the sound has never worked so I can't go back in Sys restore. My speakers say they are not installed and the system speakers never worked.

Drivers? Dell Dimensions E310

As XP won't work without all those Dell drivers you head to Dell.com, put in the service tag and get the drivers for this machine.

I install drivers in the order of motherboard, then the MS UAA if required then audio, video and utilities.

It that fails, install a new audio card.
