Question

My Sony VAIO Laptop Screen not Working

Jul 7, 2016 10:44AM PDT
Laptop Details
Sony VAIO SVE15136CNB, Windows 10 (Upgraded from Windows Cool
Issue
My Laptop is turning on But there is no visual on the laptop screen. The screen is Black. I tried an external monitor and the visuals are visible in the external Monitor. I send it to the local shop they checked the Laptop screen, and doesn't find any issues with the item. They checked it with another Laptop screen, still no visual on laptop screen. So the issue is not with the panel.
Then they sent it to another shop. They checked all components and still didn't find any issues. But no visuals are seeing in the laptop screen. Then they said they have to check the chip set( Not processor). But they don't have any guaranty that the issue will be resolved. Sometimes the laptop will not work anymore.
What will be the problem with my laptop.
Looking forward for a helpful advice.
Thank you

Answer
Since the shops didn't nail.

My bet is it's some motherboard or other issue. This should push the repair estimate to the 400+ USD range. Here I'd have to get Sony to give the estimate since it's obviously beyond the shops you have there.

I visited the sony service center and by testing they found that its motherboard issue and costs about 130$. So I didn't repaired it. Because my laptop is working with an external monitor.

Answer
cable to the panel or it's really on the chip set
Jul 22, 2016 5:41PM PDT

have you tried to project it to another display or projector? the first thing that occurred to me was the cable that connected to the panel, but then I thought it could really be sth wrong on the chip set. I bet your vaio could be used for quite a while, maybe couple years? then it's be out of warranty by now. the good thing about vaio was its stylish outlook and the light weight, but sony has quit from this, so maybe it's time to look for another laptop.

As I said in the thread the laptop is working with an external monitor. But is not working when the laptop screen is connected to the motherboard. I don't know what kind of motherboard issue is this Sad
