Resolved Question

My Samsung LCD does not recognize my Direct TV

Oct 23, 2011 1:14PM PDT

I have a recurring problem with my LN55C610N1F/XZA, when I try to return to HDMI1 (Direct TV) it displays no input/source connected. In the past I have unplugged the power to all devices and moved the single HDMI cable from the HDMI1 input on the tv to another input. I dont know if what I do fixes the problem or if it self-corrects. Im normally too frustrated and walk away for a couple of hours. Currently the Wii console works correctly but the Samsung Blu Ray (BDC 6500) and the Direct TV only have audio. My receiver is an Onkyo with HDMI Pass Through so I have audio cables as well as HDMI running to each device with a single HDMI cable to the TV.Im out of town and trying to fix this problem for my wife over the phone and am having zero luck. Please help us figure this out. Thanks to all. Also, I utilize the Anynet feature which doesnt work correcctly all of the time either Sad

Samsung - Direct TV

Could be a couple of things. Sometimes devices have trouble reestablishing contact ("handshaking") when being switched via hdmi. Switching to my cable box from my BR player can take 10 seconds sometimes.
I didn't have a chance to check out the user guides and I don't know if it would help but with previous Samsung products it appears Anynet (which has to send a signal to keep contact with other linked Samsung products. I would disable it.

I helped by friend set up his Samsung TV and receiver and Bluray player and had to disable or turn off the Anynet feature. It's not needed when you go though a receiver.
